It is with great excitement that I declare that this winter holiday there is a strong pull away from the old standby the little black dress. Colour has snuck in, and is making spirits and wardrobes brighter than ever. My favourite is a pairing of a fun and festive piece with a neautral. For example, a wonderful azure sequined mini skirt with a flowy all black top.

This type of pairing makes the look more approachable, and less dressy. As people’s inclination to steer away from getting really dressed up, this will give you a comfort level in that you will not show up anywhere too dressed up. And yet, you will definitely be appropriate in any fancy schmancy setting too. If you find that you need to take it down one notch further, put a fitted blazer on top.

As for footwear, if you are going all out, for a bombshell look then a sky high patent heel will do the trick. But, if you are searching for a more refined lady style a kitten heel with a bow on top to sweeten things up makes good fashion sense.
