While many travellers have come to expect a fee to be paid on their behalf upon arrival to a country they have selected to visit, they will not be aware that there are factors that apply to some travellers and not others. Or, that certain times of year are pricier than others. Thus, while a person planning a trip might have ben told be a fellow traveller that is will cost a certain amount to get in, that amount might not apply to the person inquiring.

To clarify, lets use Bhutan as an example. While one traveller might be asked for a certain amount to enter this Himalayan zone during January and February, another going in March or April will pay quite a bit more. And a person travelling solo will pay a different rate then a couple moving about together. Therefore, relying on information given by anyone other than the country officials themselves could prove problematic, and blow a budget out of the water before the true adventure ever even begins. The upside is that once you actually enter this country this confusion can be left behind, and the experience of exploring the country whose slogan is “Happiness is a place” can commence.
